A bi-directional scan tool is a vehicle diagnostic device. Unlike one-way tools (which only read data), it enables two-way interaction: sending commands and receiving feedback. For example, it can actively control vehicle components (like fuel injectors, door locks) to assist in diagnosing faults.
Enter the tool's "Bi-directional Control" menu → select "Fuel System" → command "Fuel Pump Activation." Observe whether the fuel pump operates (judged by pump noise and fuel pressure data changes) to determine faults like blockages or failures.
After reading fault codes, use bi-directional functions to verify associated components. For example, if reporting "Brake Light Switch Fault," command the brake light to turn on/off to check if the switch and circuit are normal.
